Graceland Theater

In January the children reenacted the story of the paralyzed man in "Lowered through the Roof".  Above 4th grade students are carrying the man to see Jesus.

The drama workshop uses the imagination and feelings of students along with dramatic backgrounds, costumes, and props to bring out the emotional experiences of the biblical characters "on-stage".  Students get a better understanding of the motivations and choices which faced the men and women of the bible as they re-enact their stories.  This workshop moves students to get into the characters' heart and minds as a way of learning the Bible lesson.  Our drama workshop can also include the use of puppets, frozen picture frames, mimes, clowns or any other theatrical means.

Currently, the children are using a drama technique called "Frozen Picture" and reliving the Last Supper with Jesus and His 12 Disciples.  The kids are getting a better understand of who the disciples were and what part they played in the Last Supper. They are taking their "Frozen Pictures" (Polaroid shots) and making a book out of them.  These books can be viewed in the entry way by the Sunday School doors.
