The children were reporters on the news in the above photo. Here they wrote reports on the four W's of the Last Supper. Choices of news segments varied. The news report was of course video taped so that the children could watch their news production performances.
The news workshop uses teaching tools such as video camera, writing, etc. to enable students to do investigative reporting on the Biblical story to learn the "where" "what" "when" and "why" of the text. This creative approach brings the timeless Biblical lesson into something that every student has grown up with. (TV and/or newspapers)
We thought this workshop would be more challenging for the kids, but they seem to really enjoy it. What children don't love to see themselves on video?!!
