The kitchen workshop uses a favorite teaching tool of the Bible-- food. Throughout the Old and New Testament, God used food to remind his people of significant events, or to teach them new truths. Bitter tasting foods reminded the Israelites of the bondage they were in before God saved them; The rising action of yeast in bread was given as a picture of sin in our lives. In these and other cases, God knows that our taste buds are one way in which we learn and remember lessons. This workshop can take advantage of that learning approach. Currently, the kids are having a modified Seder meal to better help them understand that the Last Supper was a Passover meal celebrated by Jesus and His Disciples.
